Accomplishments:

• Chantal lost the use of her legs in an accident when she was thirteen. She decided to take up wheelchair racing to stay in shape.

• She has a total of 21 gold, silver, and bronze medals from many different Paralympic Games.

• She won five gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics.

Fun Facts:

• Chantel participated in her first race in a homemade wheelchair and came in last, but her potential was apparent right away.

• Chantal has two cats, Pu-Yi and Miso.
