Accomplishments:

• Katie was a state champion her freshman and senior years of high school.

• During college, she developed an impressive record. She was a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) champion three times, an All-American eight times, and a Big Ten Conference champion three times, which means she did very well in competitions between the country’s most successful track teams.

• She has been a National Champion in the 10K (6.21 miles) and 25K (15.53 miles) races.

Fun Facts:

• Katie runs about 90 miles a week.

• Katie runs with Team USA Minnesota. One of the reasons she chose Minnesota is the weather. She explains, “The first day I arrived in Minnesota in May 2001, I went for a run and it started to hail. Right then I knew that training here with Team USA Minnesota was going to make me stronger.”
