Accomplishments:

• Ryan is the U.S. half-marathon (13.1 miles) record holder—he ran it in 59:43. (That’s 4 minutes and 55.3 seconds a mile!)

• He won the U.S. Olympic Trials Men’s Marathon in 2007.

• He ran a 2:06:17 at the Flora London Marathon in 2008, his fastest time.

Fun Facts:

• Ryan and his wife, Sara, also a professional runner, are raising money through their “More Precious than Gold” campaign to bring more clean water wells to African communities.

• Ryan's home town, Big Bear Lake, created a successful campaign called “Move a Million Miles for Ryan Hall.” Just like Mighty Milers, they kept track of the miles they ran during 2008 both to promote fitness and to support Ryan’s quest for a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics. 3,320 people participated and together they ran over one million miles!
