On Your Mark
Each student participating in the Fitness Fundraiser sets a fundraising goal based on their mileage goal for the year. (For instance, a student with a goal of running 26.2 miles might aim to collect a minimum of $26.20.)
Get Set
With the help of NYRR, hold a kick-off event to get your students and school community excited about the Fitness Fundraiser and to explain exactly how it works. Examples of kick-off events are a school-wide assembly, Mighty Milers session, or field day with games like tug-of-war or relay races.
Go
Students collect pledges from family, friends, and neighbors. Students have a set period of time to collect donations, which are then added to the school’s cumulative fundraising efforts.
