Callie Athanasakos
Callie Athanasakos has been coaching Young Runners at IS 30 since the spring of 2001. Hers is a true distance program and she brings her students to almost every weekend NYRR road race opportunity we offer. She inspires her middle-school students to run distances of up to 6 miles at practice. Callie and her program are featured extensively in the recent book Young Runners: The Complete Guide to Running for Kids from 5 to 18; this recognition is a testament to Callie’s dedication, expertise, and the efficacy of her program.
